bowtie2 software package provides ultrafast memory-efficient short read aligner, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bowtie2
bowtie2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bowtie2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bowtie2 *
You will get with bowtie2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
